Since the beginning of my world I never seen any squid. I happened to see some dolphins and cods, but no squid in any ocean biome, rivers and lakes. Is my game broken or something ?

You make want to back up your world.
While being in oveworld open your world to lan with cheats on, then paste this command:
/data get entity @e[type=minecraft:squid,sort=nearest,limit=1]
if it says:
"No entity was found"
then there is no any squid, but if it produces something like:
