When I tried to connect redstone to other redstone which was on top of a bookshelf, it wouldn't connect. Any help?

Unable to reproduce.
Here's the report.
And no, I was playing on my survival world.
Is this a server or a singleplayer world?
Singleplayer survival.
Can you attach the world as a zip file?
Sure.
Actually, I can't, because the file is too large to attach.
Also, I should have said that the block that was above the bookshelf was wooden planks, and I was trying to connect the redstone from there.
Please provide steps to reproduce using the Bug Report Guidelines Here.
I'm not sure how to reproduce, since I tried this on a different world and it worked.
Well we are unable to reproduce it. If you find a method of reproducing it please let us know.
Agh! Help! A chunk of my world has regenerated!
What happened?
You most likely have a corrupted world.
How does a world get corrupted? Also, is there a way to fix this?
Alright, I got the world back, but how do I fix the corruption?
I found out what the problem was, and how to reproduce, but this turned out to be intended. (stairs don't allow redstone connections from below them)
