Dropping items does not make a sound

In which version of vanilla Minecraft did dropping items produce a sound?

Violine1101, they are thinking of Bedrock Edition. On there, dropping an item makes a sound. Either it is mislabeled, or they might have assumed it was the same. Either way, there is no issue.

That makes it a parity issue, not a bug.

There's no way that is a parity issue, I can't remember ever not hearing sounds in Java before..
