when a chest is placed before a 1 by 2 opening it is impossible to go through

when any kind of chest (trapped, ender, or regular) is placed before a 1 by 2 opening, it is impossible to go through-even though the chest is smaller than the opening

when I made my house, I had a chest, then a opening to go through. I put a door on it.

I tried to go through but I couldnt. I removed the door, and that wasn't the problem. I had to remove the top block to make it a 3 by 1 space.

reproduction:
place any kind of chest on the ground.
place one block (any kind) behind it.
now, place one block to the left and right of that one.
go up three blocks on each side
place one block across the top
---its like making a spot to put a door, then placing a chest in front.
