I fell down to the void and found that everything was black. Not just the sky, but the items in my slots, the inventory, my player model, and even the chat was completely blacked out.
What I expected to happen was...:
I expected slots and inventory items to be in their normal color
What actually happened was...:
All items in slot and inventory is blacked out, including the chat
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Fall down below bedrock level in y level -1 (and below)
2. Everything is blacked out

We're actually already tracking this issue in MC-165208, so I resolved and linked this ticket as a duplicate.
