When I played 1.11, around small lakes above (usually) Y=62 there was sand, gravel and sometimes clay. Even in 1.12, it was alright.
Well, in 1.13, that stopped working, making these lakes looking weird and unrealistic. Terrrain generator bug from 18w06a

Violine1101, I feel a bit offended and disrespected by that. I clearly stated what version in the Environment labels along with my replies, secondly, I was unaware of the Gravel and Clay since for me Gravel and Clay were fine, just sand being an issue. Your tone seems like the type of person who would talk behind someones back, for example, me. I feel very upset by that, I think you should be more aware of what you say before posting it.
This is still a problem in 1.17-rc1. It also happens with lakes generated below y=62 (although above-ground lakes below that height on typical worlds are extremely rare).
In the image attachment showing 1.12 vs 1.17-rc1 the superflat surface is generated at y=54. This bug is especially problematic on survival superflat worlds because it renders certain resources virtually unobtainable.
Is this the same issue as MC-162623?
