When using "dx", "dy" and "dz" arguments to select an entity with commands, the hitboxes of mobs are elongated a block in the negative direction.
In the screenshots, I am using a datapack that creates particles at the mob where the player looks (using dx, dy and dz to detect the mob).

We're actually already tracking this issue in MC-123441, so I resolved and linked this ticket as a duplicate.
