pressing Shift+ F3 shows the rendering statistics pie, but closing the F3 menu doesn't hide, even going to the start menu doesn't close it.
The only way to get rid of it is by restarting the game.

We're actually already tracking this issue in MC-170816, so I resolved and linked this ticket as a duplicate.
However, that ticket has already been resolved as Fixed. The fix will arrive in the next version or is already included in the latest development version of the game.
