After nether update it seems that lights not working again, just like before 1.14 when zombies and all hostile mobs spawned in day, now it's happening again.. Only problem is that i can't figure out what is new reason, it's random.
Builded up cave system base and placed torches and lanterns around (normal ones should be level 15 on blocks decaying i think) in other side of cave base i builded nether wart farm with nether type lanterns
So next there is problem with F3 - light level is 10 only on block the lantern is placed all others around is total 0 regardless on distance just one block is 10 all others are 0 okay so i changed them to normal light leveled lanterns but there started real problem
1) Mobs does not care light or not they spawn actually in front of me, well not right in front but like around corner.
2) i know that slime and creeps maybe can spawn even in day and light level 7 + but it spawns zombies, skeletons too
3) Can't add any screenshots on this because its randomly, and now sometime zombies spawn even with spiders in day..
P.S but maybe its because netherine armor? i dont know new system.

1) I am not creator, i tryed to play on different online servers who runs snapshots for 1.16
2) owners said its opitmized
3) cant do this because its not my server and its ony in snapshots for 1.16..
P.S just now while writing this creeper spawned nearby me and blowed up some planks..
I can add some screens but i dont know if its worth or helping..
Look at light levels I understand netherine should be 10 not 15 , but why next block has only 7-8 and well i cant get screen with mobs spawning, in day ( but looking on Jira history i found that something like this was in 1.14 snapshots)

Added that crash + i got screen how zombie and creep spawn in light ( screenshot)
Edit:Got another ( in daytime ) where zombie just spawn in front and start to burn f3 panel shows that block light is 0 but really it should be 15 ... just as sky ( mountain top)
You seem to misunderstand how light levels work. Block and skylight are independent from each other. The real light level is calculated by using both of them, depending on the time of day.
The light levels in all screenshots are correct.
The zombie villager probably just spawned when it was night time (and/or below that cliff) and started burning because of the sun light. As is intended.
BTW, you seem to have forgotten to censor the chunk coordinates, in case you don't want them to be public?
And about that screenshot from the village, there are plenty of spaces there where the light level is below 8 and mobs can spawn. They don't necessarily need to have spawned where they first notice them. They don't avoid light, they can still walk into lit areas.
Okay levels i agree , i dont really understand (( i will censore everything except light levels, thanks))
But mobs still spawn in daytime, it's not night night take about 5 sec to kill them? this one just like spiders and creeps spawn in mid day near me 😃 and i dont think server who is on vanilla has some mods to do so, at first i thinked maybe its because netherine armor, but they spawn somewhere around corners i never had something like this until 1.14 when zombies spawned in hordes in day ( that one was solved and was a bug ) so i thinked this one may be too but anyway i wait some snaps , maybe its automatically fixed then if its bug ... because ain't happened something like this before
Edit: but actually i think its some kind of bug just english aint my native and i can't explain maybe, but this stuff in screen, that zombie i heard behind me sudenly when i turned he was there, i screened it, but that creeper i did not even see him before screen he appeared like in time there when i taked screen ( i see him after then ) and that screen in mountaintop was in mid day, there was no places to hide him so long, or i dont know maybe if nobody is near they not despawning or something.. well u can close .... i can wait till something change, anyway seems this stuff somehow appears only to me , i guess problem maybe is on client side...

In which version did you create the world? Did you open it in any snapshots prior to 1.15?
Have you tried optimizing the world?
