Replicate

  • Place some lava

  • Place rails going into the lava

  • Place Any Minecart on the rail and push it

  • Watch the Minecart survive the lava

Seeing as this has always been the behaviour, this is most likely intended.

I did notice this change when I updated my world from 1.15 to the snapshots. I do not know of it's intention but minecarts DID change during this update. I use to have a lava disposal system in a creative testing world (1.15.2) that would destroy all carts in lava, now they survive, and my system broke.

Confirmed in 1.16 Pre-release 8.
