Place crimson roots (or weeping vines, nether sprouts, warped roots) near lava (which is common in the nether by generation) and they catch fire, but don't burn, the fire goes out (nylium) and reappears.
Set randomTickSpeed to something high for faster testing.
The plants obviously shouldn't catch fire and they already don't catch fire from fire blocks.

This issue should be re-opened. The issue in MC-170949 was that the fire could not destroy nether vegetation, which is why it was resolved as Won't Fix. The issue in this bug report is that the nether vegetation catches fire in the first place, which is a separate issue.
Thank you for your report!
