When throwing tridents in thunderstorm at mobs it dissapears

When I throw a trident in thunderstorm at a mob it just make my trident disappear like I have all the enchants required to do that ( Loyalty 3 and channeling ) I guess the lightning explosion destroys the trident I am currently at 20w10a and its frustrating. Thanks For listening to my report 🙂
