Wolf Lighting not correct when inside house (not correctly affected by block light)

Brought a tamed wolf inside my house with roof and despite having block light levels of over 10 everywhere, the wolf was very dark as if the lighting was not affecting his model. 

(Edit: The issue somewhat resolved itself when I reloaded the chunk... May still be worth looking into though)
