Dying while riding a Strider causes game to become unplayable upon respawn

If you die while riding on a Strider and respawn, you lose the ability to place/interact with blocks, enter portals, and even start randomly dying. The game acts as if you are still on the Strider, even though you aren't. If you log out of the world and rejoin, you instantly die. When you respawn, you respawn inside your own head ( see picture ), and in third person see yourself and your player name unable to move or turn ( almost ghostlike ). The world is unplayable afterwards.
