Recipe book doesn't load the entire empty map recipe anymore

In the newest snapshot update, the empty map recipe seems to be somewhat broken. If you try to make it from memory it works fine. If you call it from the recipe book however, it doesn't place the compass in the center of the crafting matrix (see screenshot), even if it is in your inventory and consequently it doesn't allow you to craft immediately the empty map. You have to click extra on the compass to place it in the center to make it work.
