In the OS X Mavericks developer preview, Minecraft feels sloppy. It runs at smooth 60 FPS (sync on), but when moving the mouse to turn, it is very choppy.
Steps to reproduce:
Install OS X Mavericks developers preview
Start Minecraft, join a server/singleplayer world, and try to turn around in game.

it may be an OS X issue, but it may also be a bug in minecraft's input code or something, which for some reason only appears in the new release. Mojang should at least take a look at it, and decide whether it's something for Apple to fix or if they have to do something themselves.
Besides, if it is caused by Mavericks and is Apple's fault, Mojang will still have to do something to fix it if it persists in the final release of Mavericks.
by input code, I didn't mean LWJGL, but the part of Minecraft's source which interfaces with LWJGL. Also, my other point still stands.
However, I'm not the mod here - close if you don't feel it deserves to have bug status :b
I have this same problem.... whether its Mavericks or not, Mojang needs to find a way to fix it before millions of people update in the fall... There has to be a way to fix it because other games work fine.
FYI, Apple no longer maintains Java for OS X. That's all in Oracle's hands. Besides, I doubt the Oracle team would care for a bug report as vague (from a Java development standpoint) as "turning is choppy in a game written in Java".
Input is definitely handled by LWJGL, but Mojang and the LWJGL team will need to work together on this. Hopefully it won't take 9 months like the last time an apple update broke minecraft for a lot of users.
Mods, please reopen the ticket as this is the only way to get Mojang's attention here. It will require their help, even if it's not their code to fix.
Did you (or anyone) find a fix for this? I can't play any technic modpack because of this (OS X Mavericks, 10.9.0 GM).
I've updated to the latest LWJGL and tried both Java 6 and 7 but this issue still persists.
I doubt Mojang will provide a fix for this as it only effects -1.7.2 versions.
I know this only applies to mac, but can you make your computer also run Unix? You could use that when you want to play minecraft.
(Worst fix ever, I know...)
If this happens only in Mavericks, it is not a Minecraft issue.
