cannot use crafting blocks/ chests

hey, sorry if this is a duplicate but I was playing normally until suddenly I just couldn't use my furnace, crafting table, or chest. I'm assuming it happens with other crafting blocks too. When I right click any of them, nothing happens. Like at all. I have it set so that right-clicking should open it, and it has been, but apparently nope. When I break the block, nothing drops.
