Pigmen attack the player when the player didn't hit them

Whenever pigmen are shot by something like a arrow from a skeleton they attack the mob first, then they start attacking the player. I was in the nether hunting wither skeletons and then a skeleton shoots and misses me and hits a pigman and they swarm the skeleton. After they finish off the skeleton, they start attacking me even though i did not even hit them once.
