Rain occurs in covered areas

I noticed that in covered areas, rain still occurs regardless of the fact that blocks are blocking it. The rain above the blocks, I noticed, also turns darkened. In one screenshot trees above ground are making rain not occur under cover, but most covered areas like this don't do this.

I notice I can't reproduce this in different worlds apart from the one that I noticed this issue. I will note that it persists after game restarts.
