Linux VM: Mouse isn't constrained by Minecraft

I have installed Minecraft through a Debian 9 Linux VM on my laptop. However, when I tried to use my mouse to look around, it would encounter the borders of the screen and not allow me to look any farther that way.

What I expected to happen was:

I expected to be able to use my mouse for full 360 degree viewing, with my mouse not stopping.

What actually happened was:
My mouse would allow me to view 100 degrees left and right, and 55 degrees up and down

Steps to reproduce:
1. Install Minecraft on a Debian 9 Linux VM
2. Attempt to look around 360 degrees
It is important to note that this issue is in a virtual machine, so might not be replicated on a native Linux OS

Is this on a  Chromebook like MC-180993?

It is on a Debian 9 Linux VM, the hardware running it is capable of supporting the game, and the OS the VM is accessed through is completely irrelevant, and most likely does not impact the running of the game.

Please provide some specs of the hardware being used.

Processor | Up to Intel^®^ Celeron^®^ N4000
Memory | Up to 8GB LPDDR4
Storage | Up to 64GB eMMC

This is an issue with your VM, not with Minecraft.
