[MC-181811] Leveling up Villagers from Apprentice to Expert Freezes the Game

Recently made a villager farm in hopes to get more emeralds. I gave them the librarian and cartographer profession but every time I try to get them to level up from apprentice to expert, the game freezes entirely. Is there a fix to this?

Sounds like MC-126244 which will be fixed in the next release. Can you please check if this still happens in 20w18a (though in a copy of your world)?

The issues still occurs in the newest snapshot. Eventually the game unfreezes, but it takes a few minutes.
