Newest update not available to me

I just purchased and downloaded Minecraft Java on my Mac and on my windows 10 PC and the latest update says 1.15.2 - How can I update to the newest nether 1.16 update? Is this update available? I have seen websites saying it was released in March '20.

this is not a bug Minecraft 1.16 is not released yet. If you would like to play the current snapshot for 1.16 you need to enable snapshots in launcher settings
