Maps not rendering properly

Maps do not seem to be rendering properly on a world created in a previous version. This does not occur on newly generated worlds. 

The world this occurred in is my snapshot survival world that gets updated every few snapshot releases to the new version.

Generating the map in creative vs survival shows no difference.

Zooming the map via crafting does not fix the issue.

Edit: This does not occur in newly generated chunks in the same world
