Untamed Ocelots still despawn after having a lead attached

The following is not a duplicate of MC-14826

Untamed Ocelots despawning in the wild is normal, but they still do this when tied to a fence; not sure if a bug, or if hasn't been programmed to do so otherwise.

P.S. Sorry for reopening this topic, no idea how to message a mod.
