Steps to Reproduce:
1. Put a step by step guide on how to trigger the bug here
2. ...Go to crafting bench then hold a item with your mouse
3. ...Then press X to close minecraft WITH THE ITEM IN YOUR HAND. Log in again at the same world then the item is GONE.

Unable to replicate. When world is reopened, item drops and is retrieved by the player.
