I thought was only with dogs but It happens with passive mobs like: cows, chickens, pigs, etc; the player should be able to walk thru mobs and passive mobs should not be able to move player involuntarily.
What actually happened :
when a friendly mob walks around a player its able to move the player, pushing player.
If you try to feed, for example a herd of chickens, you are not able to walk thru them you have to jump and it's very difficult to get out. Like walking in a shallow water.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. The best way to reproduce this is get a dog or two, let them loose and try for example to shoot a hostile mob, while you are aiming if the dog walking around you it will move the player not letting you aim.
2. another example: while you are trying to get inside a villager's house and he's trying to get out player cannot walk thru the villager to get inside, until the villager gave up then finally player can get inside, not so useful if player is running away from a hostile mob and try to get shelter in that house, curious this behavior it's looked/wanted on MC-175834 , also if the player is on the edge of a cliff mobs can push player off the cliff.
I hope this helps more understand. this behavior is not happening on my 1.15 version.
