I have tried numerous times to see if my guardian farm will work. Upgrading from 20w20b to Pre-5 breaks guardian spawns. I really hope this gets fixed. I spent so much time creating my guardian farm and for it to go to waste would be terrible.
Open up the "Brand New World - Copy" file in 20w20b and you'll see that the guardian farm works fine. Guardian farm is at 835 116.
Open up the "Brand new World file in Pre-5 and you'll find that guardians are not spawning.

Same workaround on my server, we had a guardian farm, and I simply went and edited the region files 1 by 1 to rename every "Monument" into "monument" in the affected chunk and to make sure they all were redirecting to a "monument" data (and not "Monument")
This takes some minutes to figure out (notably finding the chunk coordinates) but it's a good fix and it works

I'm just curious now why Mojang found the need to lower case all structures instead of how they used be in capitalized.

The bug has already been fixed, so most likely they won't go back and repair it for snapshot worlds. It happened on my server, and the way i fixed it was I had to go into the region files, find the chunks the monument was in and manually code that area back into a monument using nbtexplorer, because the game deleted the monument tags, and the game therefore simply thinks its nothing but blocks. It was NOT easy, but it saved 20 hours of work that was done by a player on my server.
