[MC-189686] Turtle eggs do not hatch

i have a turtle breeding farm they was working perfectly, breeding fine eggs were hatching fine, then I think on 1.16 pre-4 eggs stopped hatching, turtles breed and lay eggs in the wild by the ocean near my house but in my farm they wouldnt breed just fighting to get to a certain block and when i got eggs from silk touch and placed them in my farm they wouldn't hatch, ive stayed up for 7 continuous nights and not even broke slightly then they all of a sudden despawned.

What block are you placing the eggs on

normal sand, has always been normal sand because thats all it works on

Did you have your turtle eggs protected? Like in fences or a building?

yeah they're all blocked up with a 2 high building, with a little roof of glowstone

same here doesnt seem to be working, im not sure if it started in pre-4 but i know its not working in pre-5
