Description:
If a boat has the invulnerable tag set to 1, the boat is not destroyed by lava, but when you travel at high speed, the boat broke if a block or a mob is hit. It should instead stop moving without breaking the boat.
Steps:
Place a boat ingame.
With a nbt editor, change the invulnerable nbt tag to 1 for the boat.
Ingame, go in boat and go to a wall or a mob at full speed.
Actual:
The boat broke if a block or a mob is hit.
Expected:
The boat should stop moving without breaking the boat.
The player could still be ejected from the boat.

Confirmed for 14w33c
confirmed for 1.8.... I have created a issue but it gets duplicated...
confirmed for 15w35a.....

Confirmed for
15w41b When a boat falls from a high place it still breaks
is this still an issue in 15w45a? the boat mecanics have changed.
"Fixed" in 1.9. And by fixed, I mean that boats don't break at all now.
I think they still do, have you tried dropping them from ~50 blocks?
I mean they don't break when they run into blocks at high speed in the water. I haven't tested doing other things to them.

Should not be the case anymore. In 1.9 it first tests if the boat is invulnerable before applying the damage.
Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version 14w10c / Launcher version 1.3.10 or later? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.
