I am not sure if this is intended, however, when holding Ctrl space you can’t go up. To replicate all you need to do is try to hold Ctrl space while flying.

Cannot reproduce. What OS and keyboard do you use? Does it work with another keyboard? Some keyboards do not allow for certain keys to be pressed at the same time.
