the super ( enchanted/glowing ) golden apple dose not give you regeneration 4 , if this is intended it is not the smartest thing to to because the super golden apple gives you 30 seconds if regeneration and its muck easier to get the effects that the golden apple gives you by using potion .

They did change Golden apples regen rate to match the UHC mode but am not sure if this translated into a change to the Notch Golden Apple (8 golden blocks and an Apple).
