[MC-191433] game crashes when smelting

I was playing on minecraft java edition server play.hoaxMC.com when on /adventure, the game crashes if i put a coal or coal+block on the furnace

What I expected to happen was...:
the normal way I guess.

What actually happened was...:
It should not crash that way.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. place a furnace near you
2. put a coal or coal_block in the furnace
3. thats it. the game crashes

Noooo.. the smelting does not work at all. even the chest, or any possible materials for fuel in the furnace, it always crashes

It looks like you need to report hoaxMC issues on their issue tracker.

OK their server uses Paper (Velocity) You need to see if this bug occurs on a vanilla server.

this report is invalid because it is happening on a server, does it happen on the vanilla client?
