[MC-192713] Shift-Clicking an Item Crashes The game (1.8.9)

Whenever I Shift-Click an item into a chest, the game just crashes. (Affects 1.8.9 not 1.16.1)

The crash says:
The game crashed whilst updating screen events
Error: java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: 348

This issue has been closed as invalid.

Your Minecraft version is outdated. We currently take issues for version 1.16.1, or later.
Please update to the latest version as it includes the newest fixes. If you still have this problem after updating, then please create a new issue.
In case of a game crash, be sure to attach the crashlog from [minecraft/crash-reports/crash-<DATE>-client.txt|http://hopper.minecraft.net/help/guides/finding-minecraft-data-folder/].
