I went trough an end gateway on the main island and was teleported to the outer end. Worked as intended. But then I wanted to go back to the main island with the same gateway I came there, but I am ported back to the same gateway every time I want to go trough.

Yes, I was playing with fabric loader, but I also tried to repruduce it in vanilla and the bug also appeared. It's a really nasty bug, so please fix it. Without an elytra, you're comletely lost.
