Title says it all. Fps dropped by half in 1.16 or drops down to 6 or less. Doesnt matter if it occurs on multiplayer or not, minecraft renders textures with your computer. So its something with the way 1.16 renders minecraft.

Hi there!
This looks like a duplicate of MC-187345, which has been temporarily marked as invalid until more information, including code analysis/potential fixes, are added to said report. I'm attaching the moderator note from that ticket here if you'd like to take a look at it:
Moderator Note
Based on the experience with MC-45458 and MC-138114, we will keep this report closed until someone experiencing major performance issues when comparing 1.15 and 1.16 can back it up with detailed data, including potential fixes - due to the massive changes in rendering, some performance impact is to be expected however. Thanks for your cooperation.

How can they keep a report like this closed? Its our problem to fix a lag issue with the game now? How am i supposed to fix it? I didnt code the game

And the fix is to revert to 1.15. They should know this by now

The vast majority of users has no performance issues, making this a technical support issue and not a bug.
Hello!
Lag is extremely common in any game, so finding the exact source of it is pretty difficult. Any report that basically says "game is laggy" without any further details or reproduction steps is likely to be resolved. Moderators are asking for this information due to the fact that without anything pointing to the source of the issue, there is nothing that the developers can do to change the game besides mess with random bits of code, unsure of whether or not it will fix the issue.
If you don't know any of the information requested, that's perfectly fine! I can guarantee that there are some people working to solve this issue right now who are experiencing the same issue as you are.
Also, as new features are added to the game, things are expected to change. In 1.16, so many features (https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/article/nether-update-java) were added to the game, and hundreds of bugs were fixed. Through all of this tweaking, the game can become less optimized for its user's systems (which is likely what happened).
Hope this helps ๐
