**Vanilla Java 1.16.1**
Not sure if this is something known/a "feature" but I was traveling via the end to my base because it was the fastest way and I lost my water breathing and wasn't paying attention when I got back and almost drowned. It was also the last one I had so RIP.
I checked the bug tracker system and couldn't find anything about this and did some searching outside of it and didn't see anything about it.
