Was on a 1.16.2 vanilla server and tossed a piglin a golden ingot it gave me a piece of string than the piglin killed me taking my armor and causing me to drop all my items even tho the game rule keep inventory was set to true?

On Ubuntu 18.04 in Minecraft java 1.16.2 on a vanilla server in the nether dimension
