Items Disappear When Player Is In Search Creative Inventory

I'm not sure if this is a bug or intentional but if a person in creative picks up an item while looking at their creative inventory and their hotbar is full, the item disappears.

Also, if you do this and keep picking up items but close the inventory, the items start picking up but not at the top left where they should go.
