select world created under previous versions of minecraft
said worlds "work" for about 3 seconds before the game hangs. This only seems to be a issue with pre-existing minecraft worlds. I created a new world, and had no such issue

The issue is the "[WARNING] Memory connection overburdened;" As the client just hangs, the longer you sit there, the bigger the to be processed number gets.
The exit code is from having to close the non-responsive client. I've tried allocating more memory via -Xmx2G command
was there some kind of world conversion going on from 1.5.2 to 1.6.1?
FYI, I would attach a world folder but the regions in the save file are over 100mb each

I've tried clearing some of the old texture pack to see if that was part of the issue but still no go on my end.
10.09MB - so I guess that needs a hosting service... - http://www.mediafire.com/download/3z506cg1tkhb3zr/Farty_Smarmbarf.7z
@Simon Leonard: Cannot confrm. Your world loads quite normally without any lag, hang or freeze, see screenshot.
@Kumasasa I was wondering why you wanted to see the actual world. The freeze happens on every world I have as well as every world I have played online or on the LAN. It is not dependant on the world.
Have you tried running the game for 10 minutes on a Linux 3.8 / Java with 1 GB max ram? Ten minutes at 1200x800 should be long enough to encounter a freeze.
@Simon Leonard:
Well, apparently I didn't get your issue.
This ticket is about freezing specific worlds, not every world.
Have you tried running the game for 10 minutes on a Linux 3.8 / Java with 1 GB max ram?
No, don't have a running Linux machine, but 1GB RAM is way too less for Minecraft. Minimum system requirements are 2 GB, compare http://help.mojang.com/customer/portal/articles/325948-minecraft-system-requirements

Confirmed.
But don't know how reproduce, was a single issue:Left a single player world, Minecraft hangs at the main menu.After terminating the process the same exit code was reported.Edit: Seems to be unrelated.
