Waxing cut copper doesn’t prevent it from oxidising

When a cut copper block (of any oxidation level) gets waxed, it doesn’t actually get the immunity to oxidation although it clearly should. This bug makes waxed cut copper blocks useless.

To reproduce

  1. Place down a bunch of waxed cut copper blocks and a bunch of normal ones

  2. wait (or speed up the process using some coding) (Note: randomTickSpeed does not work)
→ ❌ Observe that all of them get oxidised eventually

I was able to confirm this in full vanilla by just waiting long enough. The waxed copper blocks turn into normal (non-waxed) lightly weathered copper blocks.

Would like to add i added a ticket it looks like as far as the waxed lightly weathered slabs and stairs they stay. I am having an issue that if you create a block out of those two slabs it ages like normal.

@unknown, that sounds like a different issue; please create a new bug report about that.

I've also just noticed that the only waxed blocks that weathered in my testing setup were the cut copper blocks.

@violine1101 I tried and it was marked as a duplicate and resolved its MC-205857

Actually nevermind, after reading through what you said multiple times it seems like you're talking about the same thing.

Here are my test results, only cut copper is affected:
