You can see your name in inventory if you are in spectator and you are spectating someone through their POV
How you achive this is by jumping in to spectator -> left clicking on someone to see their POV -> Open up inventory
Im unsure if this applicable on other minecraft versions only tested in 1.16.4 as its the lastest version
