When pointed dripstone is placed on the bottom of a block all the way to the ground and then the block it is hanging from is broken, instead of dropping 1-0 pointed dripstone per block, it has the chance to drop 0-2 pointed dripstone per block. In my case it usually always drops 2 pointed dripstone per block.
