Foreign bees will not enter vacant Bee Nests/Beehives

I brought two bees from foreign nests (a thousand blocks away) over to an empty beehive by my base, used a lead on them to tie them to a fence post near the hive, and waited for 3 in-game days. The bees will hover around the nest with pollen dripping off of them, but remain outside of the nest no matter what time of day. This same thing occurred with a Bee Nest; they would hover around it, but refused to enter it. Their offspring will enter any vacant hive, however.

This happens to me too. The bees just float around the nest if im lucky, and don't even enter when full of pollen or even at night or when it rains.

another odd behaviour is that while i thought my bees have despawned randomly i found a bunch of them about 700 blocks away.

Edit: Im on Bedrock Windows 10.. not Java.

Can this still be reproduced in 1.18.2?

Can confirm, this happens in 1.18.2.
I bred bees from a naturally spawned nest, put them on leads and attached them to fence posts. After that I ran maybe a 100 or so blocks away, place campfires under 3 hives, brought the baby bees over, and they did not enter, even though they had pollen and it was night.

Can not confirm in 1.21.8.
