Creepers explode when not agro and out of range.

When I built a music disc farm with a named skeleton and creepers, supplied by my gunpowder farm the creepers will occasionally detonate without me being in range.

What I expected to happen was...:
I expect the creepers to just be shot by the skeleton and have that be the end of it.

What actually happened was...:
Some creepers glitch out when they're hit by a skeleton and go into the detonation phase even when I stand more than 7 blocks away. 

Steps to Reproduce:
1. (In creative mode) Trap a skeleton.

2. Trap a few creepers in front of the skeleton in a fashion that allows them to be shot.

3. Switch to survival and stand 4+ blocks away from the creepers while staying in range of the skeleton.

 

4. Observe as the skeleton shoots the creepers. Eventually one of them will begin the detonation phase with you outside the detection range and blow up.

 

UPDATE- 

This happened on a Minecraft 1.16.4 Realm.

You stated that you were using Optifine when this issue occurred and this can have an impact on the aftermath of a problem, therefore making this report invalid. If the issue still persists without the use of mods, feel free to create a new ticket.

Make sure the creeper glint itself is to kill you instead of the skeleton.  Mobs may have internal conflicts.
