Not running unless I close launcher

So for some reason I can only run Java(TM) Platform SE binary (Minecraft) if "Minecraft launcher (32 bit)" is closed. I don't even know what this is and everytime I open minecraft I have to manually close the weird launcher in task manager. It's been going on so much I put task manager in my taskbar. However, it seems to be different for different versions. For example, the older the version of minecraft it is, the window loads, but it doesn't respond. I still have to close the weird launcher thing for it to work. This just randomly started happening back in september and I didn't even do anything.
