[MC-211446] Blocks and NPC entities are gone. And then they multiplied.

My farm animals, dogs, villagers, golem, and the road are GONE.
WTH IS THIS?

PS: the other mobs are not gone, the nether is fine.

Please help.

20/01/21 UPDATE: The paths, villagers, golem, animals are back!
BTW: THEY MULTIPLIED!

Now I have twice the numbers as before. The only exception is my dog. This is just weird.

Also happened to me - dirt path blocks, item frames, iron golems, cats, dogs and villagers gone. I first logged into the new version in the nether then came back to overworld in case that has any bearing on it.

This report is a duplicate of MC-211308, and has happened because you have downgraded your world from 20w51a to 1.16.5-rc1. See the comment by @unknown on the parent link.

I did NOT downgrade my version. My version is the latest. It must be related to the new candidate version.
This NEVER occurred before.

Do you even understand what "downgrade" means? It has nothing to do with the fact that 1.16.5-rc1 was released after latest 1.17 snapshot. It's an 1.16 version, not 1.17. You've opened a 1.17 world in 1.16. This is a downgrade.
