Block and eating function doesnt seem to be fucntioning at all since the update.

When Playing minecraft on either creative or survival mode, the Block placement Button "control" doesnt work. my button works fine, it doesnt work when using it to eat or place a block in the game. its like the code to be able to place a block or eat has been deleted on this update. Before this Update with the launcer, it worked fine.

What I expected to happen was...:
The Game Should operate as previous versions of mine craft.

What actually happened was...:
Place block or eat fucntion doesnt work since this update.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Logging in to the new client.
2. Choosing your world and on with the game
3. When attempted to place a block infront of an open door, it was like i was trying to dig into the space i wanted to place the block.
4. When attempting to eat, it is hitting the air or attempting to break a block instead of eating the fruit.
