The Bug
A client-side desync can occur by placing blocks below you when jumping on top of enchanting tables.
Steps to Reproduce
Build the setup as shown in the attachment below.
Stand between the slab and the enchanting table.
Obtain a piece of dirt and switch into survival mode.
Whilst looking at the slab, jump and attempt to place the dirt on top of it.
Take note as to whether or not a client-side desync can occur by placing blocks below you when jumping on top of enchanting tables.
Observed Behavior
A client-side desync can occur by placing blocks below you when jumping on top of enchanting tables.
Expected Behavior
A client-side desync would not occur by placing blocks below you when jumping on top of enchanting tables.

I am able to confirm this behavior in both 1.17.1 and 21w43a. Here are some extra details regarding this problem.
