Placing a piston on powered sticky piston before it extends can make the piston dissapear

By spam clicking block on a sticky piston while the sticky piston is meant to be powered, but is not extended or extending, by retracting the sticky piston it deletes the block.

Note, when I discovered this, I was on multiplayer.

Might be the same issue as MC-172880?

@unknown Looks very much like a ghost piston, just without slimeblocks. As the OP was on SMP, maybe some form of slight lag aided in creating a ghost piston.

happen with lag,the server probably try to place in 2 different tick an fail for the second but the client place them before the server send the blockevent

I can't seem to reproduce this issue in 1.17.1. Could you please provide an additional video of this issue occurring whilst the F3 debug screen is enabled?
