Spawning slimes in layers y: -48 Bug or logic?

I just found a Slime in the y-coordinate: -48, is that correct?

Why not if it is a slime chunk. They spawn quite far down, and the y minuses are that. They just got more height to spawn in now, would personally not see that as a bug.
